You can focus on the fun instead of worrying about the logistics. If you’d like to do more than just ski, that rental fee is the same for other equipment as well, including fishing poles, wakeboards, tubes, and knee boards. If you don’t want to worry about driving the boat, you can even hire one of our guides. They’re experienced at towing skiers and knowledgable about the safety requirements, too! All you need to do to waterski with 321 is make a reservation, show up, and hop in the boat!
*PRO TIP: 321 is running a promotion offering all sporting equipment rentals included with your boat rental each Wednesday. If you don’t mind water skiing in the middle of the week, you can get all your equipment FREE! Depending on how much you plan to rent, it can add up to some big savings.
Safety
Water skiing is complicated and, if you don’t use caution and common sense, can be really dangerous for those involved. The Indian River Lagoon offers a great location for safe water skiing for a couple reasons. Since the lagoon is relatively sheltered, the water is usually calm enough for water skiing. However, the lagoon isn’t so small that it gets crowded; there’s still plenty of open space to avoid other boats and other obstacles, like the shore. Another bonus, when boating with 321, is that there are a lot of safety requirements to brush up on in advance if you ski alone. If you rent with 321, whether you hire a guide or not, we’re happy to help you brush up on the basics of water skiing safety and hand signals before you head out. We’re also fortunate to have a great boating community on the lagoon; the boaters are polite and friendly for the most part, keeping an eye out for the safety of others.
Incredible Views
There are few places in the world where you can enjoy spectacular views of nature and see a huge variety of wildlife while you water ski. Don’t be surprised if a pod of dolphins joins in on your fun: the Indian River Lagoon is home to huge numbers of them, and they’re pretty playful. In fact, there’s no other place in the world like the lagoon; with over 2200 species of animal 2100 plant species, it’s the most diverse estuary in North America.
Obviously, we’re a little biased when it comes to rating the best places to water ski in Florida; after all, we’ve chosen to call this beautiful area home for a reason. However, we think if you come check out what the Indian River Lagoon has to offer for skiers (and for everyone!), you’ll agree.
